In the olden days only the manual treadmill was available wherein you have to manually your feet against the deck and that moves the belt. You need to have a lot of energy to move your lower body and in a way it is a good exercise. There were also limitations such as over burdening your joints with manual movements, improper speed control, frequent changes in the incline, etc. These limitations and a few other technical things have given way to the innovation of motorized treadmill. Motorized treadmill is robust and helps as an alternative for most of the cardio vascular exercises. The belt moves automatically and the movement is controlled by the motor. You don’t have to start it manually unlike the manual ones. You can regulate the pace and incline while you walk or run. The speed and workouts are absolutely in our hands to control and you need not push any extra troubling your knees and legs. These days most of us do not have fixed pattern of working and every day is a different day. And we seldom find time to exercise or go for an early morning walk or do exercises to keep the body fit.
